Queer and Transgender Asian
and Pacific Islander (QTAPI) Week
May 27 - June 7, 2026
What’s QTAPI Week?
First held between May 22-29 in 2021, the Queer and Trans Asian & Pacific Islander (QTAPI) Heritage Week was proclaimed by the San Francisco Board of Supervisors during a time of increasing anti-Asian hate across America during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The week serves as a bridge between AANHPI Heritage Month in May and Pride Month in June, and includes events and gatherings intended to be a celebration of our community’s talents and stories while also amplifying our unseen histories and resilience.
QTAPI Week is Intergenerational.
We are building our QTAPI movement by honoring the legacy of activism of our elders and by inspiring the next generation of leaders, and re-imagining the world together.
QTAPI Folks have always been here.
Our events seek to bring visibility to the contributions of the Asian and Pacific diaspora everywhere, but especially in the Bay Area. We aim to showcase the complexity and beauty of intersectionality within these histories.
